How to play Spades · Partners
01 · Bid as a team
You and Jamie each bid 0–13 tricks. Your non-nil bids add together to form your team contract. Alex and Riley form the opposing team.
02 · Play your cards
Click or tap once to throw. Follow the led suit if you can. Spades are always trump and may be led only after they are broken, unless you hold only spades.
03 · Take the trick
The highest spade wins; without spades, the highest card of the led suit wins. You and Jamie share tricks toward your team contract.
04 · Score together
Make your combined contract for 10 points per bid trick; fall short and lose that amount. Extra tricks earn 1 point and a bag each. Every 10 bags cost 100 points.
05 · Nil and victory
A nil bidder earns +100 for zero tricks or loses 100 for taking any. Their tricks do not help the team contract and become bags. The first team to reach 500 after a hand wins; a tie continues.
